Write better pages

Audit your website content without starting from scratch.

A content audit is a structured review of what your website says, whether it is still accurate and whether it helps visitors complete a useful task. Start with the pages people rely on most.

Make a page inventory

List every public page, its purpose, its primary visitor and the person responsible for keeping it accurate. This makes duplication and neglected sections easier to spot.

Review for usefulness

For each important page, check whether its heading makes sense, the opening answers the main question and the information matches the current business.

Practical checklist

  • Is the page still needed?
  • Does the heading describe the page?
  • Is the information accurate today?
  • Does it answer a visitor question?
  • Does it link to the next useful page?

Choose a next action

Mark each page as keep, revise, merge, redirect or remove. Work through high-value pages first rather than attempting a full rewrite at once.
