Website speed is mainly about removing avoidable delay. For a small site, the highest-value checks are usually image size, unnecessary scripts, reliable hosting and testing important pages on an ordinary phone connection.
Start with images
Use correctly sized images and modern formats where possible. Do not upload a very large source image when the displayed area is small, and reserve image dimensions to reduce layout movement.
Limit what the browser must load
Every font, tracker, widget and script has a cost. Keep only tools that serve a clear visitor or business purpose, and delay non-essential features.
